I’m obsessed!

I was lucky enough to have a three week break to Bulgaria and in the middle of the holiday we took the sleeper train from Bulgaria to Istanbul.

It was an interesting journey. Your sleep is broken twice in order to get off the train (waking from a deep sleep) to firstly take yourself and your passport to the Bulgarian border control and three hours later to the Turkish border control. Nuts!

Anyway, it was worth it.

Istanbul was fabulous.

The Mosques.

The architecture.

The museums.

The food.

Those carpet shops! Eeeeek (I did buy a runner).

I have come back totally inspired by the patterns and tiles. Full of awe for us human beings who can create such awe inspiring buildings and archeological wonders.

The Roman cistern was incredible. An underground reservoir of humongous proportions.
